We enjoyed a wonderful weekend of fun and cooler weather in Scottsdale, Arizona on a trip with our friends Cary, Tom and Autumn. Danny & I had never visited Scottsdale before. So, it was time for a new adventure. First stop, a party at the groom’s house. For our Houston friends and football fans, you may recognize the groom, Greg Mancz. Greg played football with the Houston Texans from 2015-2020, before playing with other NFL teams. There were a couple of other former Houston Texans players at the party. They were Xavier Su’a-Filo (Houston Texans 2014-2017) and Kendall Lamm (currently with the Miami Dolphins). We had the privilege of meeting and getting to know Greg and Emma when they were still living in Houston. What an honor to be invited to attend their wedding.
Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona
This desert city has a historic old town. Scottsdale dates from the 1880’s and Old Town is quite the collection of shops, galleries, restaurants and bars. It’s a great way to spend the day outdoors and enjoy the sites, gardens, food and wine. There are also beautiful resorts, golf courses, museums and plenty of other things to do while you’re here.
Sedona, Arizona
Since the wedding wasn’t until Saturday evening, we drove a couple hours to Sedona for lunch to see the red rock cliffs, canyons and the beautiful scenery. It was a short daytrip, but still amazing. I’d love to return and spend a few days exploring more of this city and its natural beauty against the backdrop of red rocks.
A resort wedding
The location of the wedding was at Different Pointe of View on top of North Mountain and the panoramic views, both day and night, were indeed spectacular! The wedding ceremony, dinner, dancing and band were incredible. We wish Greg and Emma much happiness and success in their future together.
