Houston Astros 2022 World Series Victory Parade

The Astros won the World Series and the excitement in Houston was incredible. Then began immediate plans for the Houston Astros 2022 World Series Victory Parade in downtown.

Our Own Astros Victory Parade Plans

Danny didn’t attend the last victory parade when the Astros won the 2017 World Series, he wasn’t going to miss this one. He joined a group of friends as they carpooled to downtown Houston four hours early to find the perfect spot. They decided on a high-rise parking garage and went up five stories above the parade route for an incredible view.

Over one million fans jammed into downtown to watch the parade. What an amazing parade it was! It looked and felt like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. If we would have only had beads to throw. They were very happy to be out of the streets and away from the crushing crowds.

Astros Parade—not politics

Danny didn’t like that the parade began with several politicians front and center. This should have been a celebration of the win and not an arena for political statements. As Ted Cruz rode through the parade, the crowd erupted with very loud boos. Maybe the crowd agrees with Danny’s sentiments. Someone in the crowd tossed a couple of beers at Cruz “for chugging”. We heard the beers hit him when we watched the news that evening.

The Astros 2022 World Series Victory Parade was crammed with 2 miles of nonstop fun and activity. Some of the best parade moments involved showing off the trophy which drove the crowd crazy with excitement and pride. It was an exciting day and an experience he’ll never forget…On the other hand, the 2 1/2 hour ride home in gridlock traffic is definitely something he wants to forget.

The Houston Chronicle has a great photo gallery of the best images from the parade. If you were at the parade and have something to share, leave a comment below.
